The entertainment industry has some unrealistic beauty standards. It seems like everyone is going under the knife to achieve the ideal look for their fans. While women have been the most famous for their physical enhancements, men aren’t too far behind them. Stories of famous actors and musicians getting botox and work done on their faces to appear younger have been popping up for years. Now it looks like guys are getting their bodies done too, particularly men in hip-hop like French Montana, Kanye West and Drake who after years of keeping their shirts on, are starting to pop up in videos shirtless with very similar six packs.
Popular radio personality FunkMaster Flex recently revealed that he got some work done. The New York shock jock kept fans up to date on his weight loss journey at the end of 2020, and decided to let them in on the extra help he got to get slim. After dropping 40 pounds with the help of “40 Day Reset”, he made the decision to suck the remaining fat out via cosmetic procedure. “Today I took a step I always wanted to try!” captioned Flex in his post to Instagram as he documented the procedure. Stating that the target areas were his “lower stomach, arm pit sides and back fat,” he goes on to say that he endured “No anesthesia, awake the entire time! I really enjoyed it!”
In the post he captioned himself the “newest member of the lypo club”. In an interview following the post he revealed he’d thought more people were open about their surgeries, before alluding to Drake, LL Cool J and Kanye West all having the procedure.
“I went public with it just because I thought everyone did,” Flex claims. “Now, I can’t say I seen, but I can say, you know, I did, to my knowledge, Drake and Kanye and LL [Cool J] and people like that, that’s what they were doing…When I called and I got in touch with the guy who did it for me, I was recommended because current football players and current boxers go to him.”
Drake, whose been busy recovering from knee surgery, has been showing a new commitment to health and wellness. The Canadian hit maker spends a lot of time in the gym these days and was recently spotted in a work out video looking super in shape with his shirt off flaunting some toned abs. He flexed and smiled to the camera in the clip posted by OVO signee Baka.
“He needs to let us know who that lipo doctor is cause they did a good job,” said one commenter.
