Rapper Ja Rule Graduates From Harvard Business School

Ja Rule has been many things, including a chart-topper, actor, and even famously the co-founder of Fyre Media that led to the failed Fyre Festival in 2017.  Now, he’s adding Harvard Alumni to that list of accomplishments, as it’s being reported that the Queens rapper has just finished classes.

Well into his 40s, Ja Rule (real name Jeffrey Bruce Atkins), made the decision to enroll in Harvard Business School back in 2019.  “Starting Harvard Online Business School in September!!!Can’t wait…”  Rule announced via Twitter.

After over a year of studies and coursework, it’s being reported by the “Put It On Me” rapper that he’s finally officially completed the program.  Similar to his first announcement, Rule took to Twitter once again to share his accomplishments with his social media family.  “I ain’t the sharpest knife in the drawer buuuuut…” he captions the post that shares his certificate.

In the post, the Ivy League University’s certificate reads, “Jeffrey Atkins has successfully completed the Harvard business School Online Certificate Program [for] Entrepreneurship Essentials. This certificate program introduces a framework—People, Opportunity, Context, Deal—to evaluate opportunities, manage start-ups, and finance ventures.”

Ja has been vocal of his entrepreneurial interests in the past, which includes his foray into the tech space with his ICONN app.  Perhaps that was his motivation to achieve this latest feat in his life.  Speaking with HipHopDX in 2020, he dived deeper into his love for technology.  “I love tech space, man,” he said. “It gives you that creative feeling again, like whether you first get in the lab and start making records and s**t, and you’re like, ‘Will this work? Will people like this how me and my n****s like this?’ It’s like we got a secret. We about to let this secret loose to the world.

He added, “That’s how I feel like with tech. I’m not recreating the wheel, man. I’m creating it for the culture. That’s the difference. It’s other live platforms. It’s other platforms that let you monetize your content, but it ain’t ICONN, trust what the f–k I’m telling you.”

In 2012 while in prison, Ja Rule was the recipient of his GED.  He also joins a plethora of other celebrities that have gone on to achieve their degrees from Harvard’s online business school which includes Ciara who graduated on June 3 of last year.  “I’m officially a @HarvardAlumna and this is my mood. Never stop believing!” she wrote on social media.

Congratulations to them both!
