The Internet has been ablaze ever since news broke that Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset. It seemed all good not too long ago as both had been posting about one another in recent weeks on their respective Instagrams, but the “Be Careful” rapper has had enough it seems with the Migos rapper.
Reports followed up confirming Cardi B is listed as the plaintiff, with Offset being the defendant. The divorce is also confirmed to be contested. Initial reports suggested that Cardi was seeking primary custody of the soon to be ex-couple’s only child together, 2-year old daughter Kulture Khari Cephas, and was also seeking child support as well.
Various speculations have materialized surrounding the drama, with most leaning towards infidelity from the “Clout” rapper. History is repeating itself, as Cardi once filed for divorce in 2018 due to proof of cheating scandals centered around Offset.
The “Invasion of Privacy” superstar forgave Offset, however, and the two reconciled and were seemingly working on rebuilding the marriage and focusing on the family. The couple even set out on a lavish vacation for Cardi’s birthday, where she uploaded a picture to her Instagram sharing an intimate moment between the two explaining how they were able to continue to figure it out. “They prayed, they got they s–t together and they lived happily ever after …until they argue about who got the best food,” captioned Cardi at the time.
As soon as news cycles broke the story of the divorce, speculations from fans emerged swiftly. Although some may have forgotten about the initial reports of infidelity years ago, many hadn’t, and chose to remind Offset by trolling his comments.
New reports have emerged that Cardi has chosen to amend the initial divorce documents and is seeking an “amicable resolution”. It’s reported that the rapper did not know the lawyer filed documents of such magnitude that was initially reported and reached out to the lawyer to clarify, making sure to remove all tension with Offset. She is also seeking joint custody as opposed to primary custody.
No official statements have emerged from either party’s team pertaining to the divorce, but Offset is seemingly unbothered in recent uploads on Instagram, which may have caused fans to swiftly troll the Migos rapper.
Under a photo where Offset is seen posted up next to an expensive car where he captions it “Grind don’t stop”, comments emerged like “We’ve all posted that one photo of us flexing right after a breakup.” Another user commented “No more wap for you,” referencing her #1 hit WAP featuring Megan Thee Stallion, while some are expressing heartbreak and rooting for the two to get back together with comments like “Go get ur woman back wtf.”
