Saweetie may be a successful rap star, but a recent performance has people wondering if everything’s ok with the West Coast Femcee. Born Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper, Saweetie has had a pretty impressive freshman era, with a handful of hit records and collaborations, and a goals-eque relationship with Quavo that helped catapult the new artist to new heights before the pair called it quits earlier this year.

The couple famously got together after Quavo slide in her DM’s in 2018. Speaking with the ladies of The Real that year she gushed about how she enjoys his company. Shortly afterwards on Big Boy Neighborhood she confirmed “At first, he DMed me.” “You know what, it was weird because his DM went straight to my [inbox.] It went straight in, it didn’t go to the requests.” After exchanging some DMs, Saweetie said that the two “kept running into each other,” including an outing during New York Fashion Week in 2018.
The two began appearing at events together including the 2019 Grammys. They went official via instagram and seemed like goals for fans of both rappers. However at the top of this year things ended. Fans believe that Quavo may have cheated while others say Quavo was actually upset about Saweetie appearing on the show Respectfully Justin with ex boyfriend Justin Combs. She took to twitter to announce their split on March 19th 2021. “I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation” she told her followers following news of their breakup.
Quavo responded “You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best.” Alluding to their being more to the story. In the time since, its been rumored that Quavo has repossessed some of the gifts he gave her, including a Bently he brought her for Christmas.
With recent video surfacing of the “Icy Girl” performing for tip on the pier, some are wondering if he possible took more back than just the car. In the video Saweetie can be seen performing for a crowd at the seaside attraction with a tip jar labeled “Pretty B***h Summer Donation.”
Fan in the comments said “Damn that repo that quavo put her through has her doing anything for a new whip!!” Someone else said “She prolly did this so she could keep her name circulating in social media. Negative attention is still attention. If she needs money sell those Birkins and start a business.”

Saweetie later addressed the criticism. The rapper wants people to know she is not low on cash.
