A top 10 favorite rappers list can end friendships. The fandom in hip-hop is insane, and when it comes down to debates over who all the G.O.A.T.s are, people can get really aggressive. With a new generation of hip-hop now settling into their respective legacies, lists that once only features 90’s heavyweights like Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg now have made way for the likes of Kendrick and J Cole. Some millennials lists even feature newer acts like Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti. Rapper The Game may have found his name on several peoples top 10 list, but he decided to be modest and make his own excluding himself. Taking to twitter, Game set off a firestorm over his choices.
The Game saw another tweet go viral yesterday after reminds fans of his rags to riches journey from struggling MC to hit-making rapper. “I remember a time when I had $26 to my name & was scared to spend it,” he wrote on twitter. “Didn’t know where the next meal was coming from. Slept in my car in Hollywood just to wake up in the action & pass out my demo…. never give up, your dreams live around the corner from your struggle!!”
Fans inspired by the tweet immediately flooded his mentions with their own stories or just thanking him for sharing and reminding them of the hustle. “The Game’s rap career is a success story.. I still fuck with The Game till this day.. I first heard The Documentary when I was 8 with my bro. Game was the biggest thing in the West Coast when he came up.. Salute King.”

Many took offense with Lil Baby’s inclusion while some wanted to know how the list featured no female MCs. 50 Cent and Kanye West were also notable exclusions. “Why isn’t Kanye on that list?” said one user. “50 Cent should be there not lil baby” said another.
