Tammy Rivera, wife of rapper Waka Flocka, maybe one of the strongest women that can survive cheating scandals… well at least according to her husband. The “No Hands” rapper and his beau have had quite a few setbacks in their marriage pertaining to infidelity, and Waka believes that the past indiscretions from him that have caused turmoil to their marriage, have in the end made her a stronger and better woman. The Internet, however, is confused.
Waka Flocka and Tammy’s reality show, Waka & Flocka: What The Flocka, included a couples therapy session during one of the recent episodes. Rivera shared that when they first met, the relationship came with challenges. The more the rapper’s status rose, the more she had to acquire thicker skin to thwart off all that came with the fame, calling the peered a “spiritual battle”.
“When I first met Waka, he was in the prime of his career. So there [were] women, there was drugs, there was alcohol, there was fame, which is a drug within itself. Those were all demons I was fighting,” Tammy expounded. “So when I moved to Georgia and I decided to be with this man, I did not know I had to suit up for war, because that’s what I felt like I was doing.”
At one point in the conversation, the Atlanta rapper expressed that his wife wasn’t affectionate, placing the blame on her childhood. The therapist suggests, however, that it could be due to their past infidelity issues, to which Waka claims the effect was far from negative.
“I actually made her meaner. [Tammy] had no idea what she was up against. It could have made her or broke her,” he said. “It made her even better than what I thought. I helped her.”
The rapper’s comments did not sit well with Rivera, who objected. “That’s the thing, he thinks he helped me by doing some of the evil and mean things he did to make me meaner, that didn’t help me,” the “You Did This” singer interjected. “What that did was add insecurities to me and made me not trust your judgment in certain s**t, and made me not trust you in certain ways. It did not help me. You did not have to do that. Life would have done that.”
The clip cuts to a confessional where the rapper admits how messed up it is to say what he felt, but continued on. “It’s f–ked up to say, ‘hey, cheating made you better,’ but it actually made Tammy like a beast,” said Waka. “Basically, the whole world was looking at her. I don’t think nothing is more embarrassing than that,” to which Tammy responded, “cheating didn’t make me stronger. Beating his a** made me stronger.”
Social media users, upon hearing the rapper’s comments, found it asinine for the most part and could not disagree more. “Ok so she should cheat back to make him stronger…. bozo,” wrote one user, while another chimed in, “These dudes try to sound sooo philosophical when they really sound dumb AF!”
