Singer/songwriter Ashanti has made a career off songs inspired by falling in love and heartbreak. It is no wonder then that people are constantly trying to figure out if and who she is dating. Over the years she’s been linked to some high profile men, but a recent snapshot posted from her on vacation has everyone talking.
Ashanti famously dated rapper Nelly for almost a decade. The power couple are right out of a TRL fever dream and both known for their hit records in the early 00’s. The pair reportedly met at the 2003 Grammys. They remained pretty private throughout their union, only releasing a few songs together before calling it quits in 2014. Some rumors point to Nelly cheating while others say it was actually Ashanti who stepped out with rapper/producer Chinx Santana.
Chinx was a long time producer of Ashanti’s. Its rumored that he was dating Ashanti at the same time he was dating Keyshia Cole. While Ashanti denied these rumors, the two did duet on a record called “Woman to Woman” that fueled the rumors further.
Most recently Ashanti has been connected to rapper Joyner Lucas. The two played a couple in the video for their collaboration “Fall Slowly” and shared several steamy moments on screen. The two never confirmed or denied the rumors, obviously letting fans come to their own assumptions while pressing rewind on the sexy clip.
Ashanti, who is most notorious these days for her sexy bikini pictures and lavish vacations, might have tipped off fans to the real man in her life. Ashanti posted a picture from Mexico where the singer is sporting a form fitting white dress and hugging a dapper man in a suit. Captioned “Great times” the slideshow shows Ashanti, her mystery man and a group of friends having a blast in a restaurant.
While fans quickly rushed to conclusions about her relationship with the man, Ashanti commented and let fans know they are just friends. In fact, the man is the manager of the establishment she was partying in.
