The time has come for all those that have been following the Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez incident story to hear his side of the story. After being silent throughout the whole saga, while numerous speculations and rumors would arise and presumably allowing the “Savage” rapper to speak her peace, Lanez is finally ready to break his silence.
The “Memories Don’t Die” singer has been at the receiving end of intense scrutiny from social media, fans, celebrities, and news media ever since the unfortunate incident. Lanez was then detained in Hollywood Hills, and charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Initial reports arose that Megan Thee Stallion was also in the car, and suffered a wound to her foot due to broken glass. It was later disputed by multiple sources, and Megan herself in a few Instagram videos following the incident, confirming she underwent surgery due to “gunshot wounds.”
Megan wouldn’t reveal the identity of the person, nor would she confirm that Lanez was behind the trigger, until a month later, where the rapper signed on to her Live and directly names him.
Since news of the incident occurred, it was reported that Lanez was suffering from a decline in streaming numbers. Nielsen Music/MRC Data reported streams of 20 to 30 million before the incident, and that number has significantly dropped to about 9 million.
Today after being radio silent for some time, the Toronto singer logged on to Twitter with a message to the world. “To my fans … I’m sorry for my silence …. but respectfully .. I got time today,” he tweeted, and since, fans have been waiting impatiently for the time to arrive.
Rapper T.I., who has been vocal about his feelings on the situation, shared the two had a conversation afterward. The rapper explained the importance of supporting Megan, as well as Black women, and then had this to say on their conversation:
“Listen, I don’t know, man. But, I spoke to him and he said the sh*t didn’t happen like that. I said, ‘Well, you need to be saying something, bruh. How did it happen?’ And he said he couldn’t say nothing about how it did actually happen. I told him I understood that. I said, ‘Man, you can’t expect nobody to ignore the facts that are being presented if you don’t have any other conclusive facts that can overturn these. You got to say something, bruh.’ If you ain’t going to say nothing, you can’t expect nobody else to. I ain’t about to just shut up when you got facts out here that say it’s a woman been shot at the hands of another Black man within the culture. We’ve got to speak out on that. We’re the f**k n***as if we don’t.”

Well, say something he did. Lanez shocked fans by releasing a 17-track album called #DAYSTAR. Throughout the album the singer addresses his relationship with Megan Thee Stallion, also alleges he’s not responsible for the incident, and her team was trying to frame him. The singer also addressed artists and celebs like Dream Doll, Kehlani, JR Smith, and Masika Kalysha.
On a song called ‘Solar Drive @ Night’ which seems to be the location the incident took place, Lanez confesses he wants Megan Thee Stallion back. The singer also reveals he fell in love too fast.
