#RIPEminem Begins Trending On Twitter Following Disturbing Tweet, Fans Send Condolences and Concerns To Rapper Following Fake Tweet

If it’s one thing we are learning with 2020, certain trends/jokes are absolutely not funny. So many lives have already been lost. So when the #RIP hashtag and a celebrity name popped up on social media today, many were sent into a frenzy. Thankfully the hashtag has been revealed to be fake.

News articles come at such a rapid pace these days, so it’s been quite hard to differentiate between what’s real and inadequate. Unfortunately, information that proves to be false happens to spread way quicker than the truth. As Charlamagne Tha God states, “No one cares about the truth when the lie is more entertaining.” We are in an era where people fail to research before spreading falsehoods and tales.

Recently, rapper Eminem was the latest to be hit with the RIP hashtag on Twitter when it began to spread out of the blue lately.  Fans of the rapper became immediately anxious and filled with fear as they scrambled to find out the validity of the tweet. Once it was proven to be false, tweets and retweets filled the Twitterverse with the hashtag, with some joking on the matter. 

“Y’all gotta chill with the #RipEminem…a n**ga heart dropped like a mf,” tweets a fan, while others continued with the trend. “Me checking twitter to make sure Eminem is okay #ripeminem,” one also wrote with a gif of a man tumbling down an escalator. Another user wrote, “Who got #ripeminem trending? Y’all can go straight to hell!😂😂.” One also wrote “#ripeminem dont yall dare do a hashtag like this ever again. made my damn heart drop.”

The whole debacle started when a Twitter user by the name of levicumsock wrote earlier today.

Some fans didn’t take kindly to the trending topic on Twitter also, as this has been a sensitive time and year. In January, the world was rocked with the news that former NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna Bryant, had passed in a terrible freak helicopter accident in Calabassas, Ca. A month later, rapper Pop Smoke’s life was taken, also in California. So, of course, when everyone realized it was fake, many came out with tweets speaking out against the act.
