Scottie Pippen’s now ex-wife Larsa Pippen’s love life has been living on the center stage of headlines as of late. After 21 years of marriage and four children with the Hall of Fame inductee, they would dissolve their marriage in 2018, citing irreconcilable differences. The pair had been trying to work it out after an initial divorce filing in 2016 when two voice recordings of Larsa surfaced of calls to law enforcement with allegations of verbal aggression from Scottie towards her.
According to PEOPLE, in October of 2016 police were called twice within one week to their Fort Lauderdale home for a domestic disturbance. At the time, the former Chicago Bulls small forward’s lawyer told PEOPLE, “Mr. Pippen is aware that some members of the press have obtained 911 recording recently made by Ms. Pippen. While these recordings speak for themselves, Ms. Pippen did not make any allegations of physical violence by Mr. Pippen.”
The former Real Housewives of Miami star found herself the center of criticism after being linked to rapper Future shortly after they were separated. Many believed that their marriage failed due to cheating on her part, however, she vehemently denied the allegations. “I was married to him for 20 years, I did everything for him and my family. People change and that’s what really happened,” she said as reported by TMZ.
She added, “Most people can’t even imagine being in a relationship for a week so I know it’s beyond imagination. Cheating wasn’t the problem.” In petty nature, Future didn’t make the situation any better by uploading a video to his fans on Snapchat with the caption “She mines nooowwwwwwwwww,” shortly after the divorce filing. Larsa stands by her claims that she and Future “are friends”, adding that she is “solely focused and dedicated to her children,” as told by a source to Us Weekly.
Larsa did admit recently that during their 2016 separation, she briefly dated Tristan Thompson shortly before he began dating Khloe Kardashian. During a recent appearance on the Hollywood Raw podcast, she also revealed that she was the one that introduced him to the Kardashian clan. “I was kinda seeing Tristan before Khloé. Before Khloé or any of them knew he existed,” she claims. “I was seeing him, I had him come to L.A., I brought him to a party Kim [Kardashian] had. I introduced him to all of them.”
Pippen also shared that within 7-10 days after bringing him to the party, he entered into a relationship with Khloe. “Which is fine, I don’t even care. It’s whatever,” she admits when it comes to Thompson and Khloe’s relationship. “I’m the type of person that doesn’t chase what’s not for me. I will never chase a man; I will never put a leash on a man. I don’t do that. I feel like, let you be great. If you want to be with other people, go ahead. I’m great by myself.” She went on to deny claims that she was also seeing Thompson after he and Khloe began to date.
Her dating history post-divorce led her to have to defend herself earlier this year on social media after trolls criticized her for comments she made around the same time the acclaimed and highly watched docu-series The Last Dance had been airing. Social media users almost immediately began to slam Pippen after she posted a selfie to her Instagram with the caption, “Find someone who’ll put you first.”
After many comments echoing the sentiment that she “hadn’t put Scottie Pippen first,” she responded “Really? I did everything for him literally everything.” It seems though that they are in a good place now that things have cooled off, because she posted a touching tribute to her estranged husband on his recent birthday along with a Drake inspired caption. “Happy birthday Ace love you always! Ya I was with him shooting in the gym ,” Larsa captioned the post that featured two throwback pictures of them in happier times.
The former reality star is back in headlines however now as it’s being reported that she may be dating Minnesota Timberwolves star, Malik Beasley. The rumors began after pictures of her and the 24-year old were both seen holding hands at a mall. What’s worse is the pictures allegedly “blindsided” Beasley’s wife, according to a report by TMZ, who had no idea that her husband had been hanging out with Pippen in Miami.
According to sources, Beasley’s wife, Instagram model Montana Yao (whom he also recently had a child with), had been expecting Malik to “return home to Minnesota for his 24th birthday on Nov. 26 … and she was disappointed when he didn’t make it back.” Beasley had previously made headlines for a massive brawl with former NFL player Su’a Cravens in a Denver apartment lobby, allegedly over Yao.
Pippen may be in a good space with her ex-husband, but her love life may be affecting her son, Scottie Pippen Jr., as he’s made his reactions known on social media. Their son, who is currently a college basketball star at Vanderbilt, liked several tweets on Twitter that disapproved of the relationship and fired off a tweet of his own. “Focused on myself and my goals. I’m not responsible for nobody’s actions. All good over here,” he tweeted.
