Singer Sam Smith has become much more open about their personal life since they decided to embrace choosing a different pronoun for themselves. While the entertainment world has slowed down, thanks to the pandemic, it’s also given those would otherwise be working more downtime to plan life and Sam Smith’s had some thoughts on becoming a parent.
Smith recently sat down with The Zane Lowe Show for Apple Music and talked about some of the life goals they are anticipating, while also admitting that there’s much more music left in them.
Smith told Lowe that he looks forward to having a family of their own. “I want to be with the kids and I want to watch them grow and be with them every day. I want to be mummy,” Smith said, referring to the British pronunciation of the word.
“I’m definitely going to do that at some point, but I’ve still got more in me. I’ve still got ambition,” also admitting their not ready to give up music just yet – still being only 28 years old.
“I try and settle it down all the time and play it down, but I’m ambitious and I would still want to sing to people and do this job. It’s an amazing feeling.” What’s been holding them back from settling down all this time? Smith says that dating has been hard, unfortunately.
“I joined this dating site called Hinge in the UK and they chucked me off of it after one night cause they thought I was a catfish pretending to be me.”
