Much has been said about the enduring union of Calvin and Shante Broadus, known to the world as Mr. & Mrs. Snoop Dogg. Well, mostly the endurance of Shante in the face of her Rhythm & Gangsta husband’s reported bouts of infidelity.
Snoop and Shante have been married since 1997 with their share of Ups & Downs as the Doggfather famously rapped. Shante, in an Instagram post wrote, “Don’t ask me for relationship advice cuz I took the n—a back 81 times [shrug emoji, laugh emoji].”
Calling Uncle Snoop “complex” would be an understatement. He’s stood trial for murder charges while simultaneously enjoying the status of being the most famous Gangsta rapper of the subgenre’s peak era. His record-breaking debut album, Doggystyle, cemented Death Row Records as bonafide musical juggernaut. A label whose roster included Dr. Dre, 2Pac, The Dogg Pound, Hammer, Michel’le, and Nate Dogg among several others. His Youth football league and extensive charity work betray the perceived inner workings of an artist who famously rhymed “it’s one eight seven on an undercover cop.”
Heads are scrambling to decipher Mrs. Broadus’ latest post, an enigmatic IG story in which she wrote, “we all wasted the best versions of ourselves on someone who didn’t give a single f==k.”
His slick brand of charisma and comedy has afforded him the ability to maintain relevance over three decades, appealing to a wide age of fans without making great deviations to his core persona.
A stir was caused earlier this year when Instagram Influencer, Celina Powell, revealed a tape that allegedly featured romantic liaisons between her and the Long Beach Hip-Hop veteran. The tape was offered for $29.95 on her Only Fans account, which also was advertised to include separate encounters with Tekashi 6ix9ine, and AK
In an Instagram Story, Powell stated, “I dropped exclusive NEVER before seen tapes on 69 and Snoop. Ya’ll thought I was playing. I keep every video.” She made other claims in a vlog about the encounter involving Snoop, alleging that the night was an unprotected, illicit-substance fueled romp.
Snoop attempted to deflect the rumors by commenting about the video, “That’s a cheap shower curtain. What hotel is that. I mean motel.”
Celina Powell quickly retorted, “The same one you took me [sic] too.”
He then posted a photo of he and his wife together and smiling. “@bosslady_ent. Thanks4 the . kids loyalty and stability n the ability to deal wit me on my worst days u are appreciated…”
While Snoop did not make an outright public apology, fans have speculated that the post, effuse with praise for his wife, was symbolic of a mea culpa given its timing.

Others have shrugged off the cryptic commentary. An Instagram user commented, “She’s been posting these teenage breakup memes for years. She ain’t going nowhere.”
Another user wrote, “She just now getting FED UP?!? Lol bye.” A third follower stated, “They’ve been breaking up and getting back together my whole 35 years of being on this earth.”
And maybe that’s the manner in which one should interpret this news.
