Rapper T.I. is more than just a musician and he’s been flexing his muscles over the years he’s been in the business. In addition to his legendary status as one of the South’s originators of Trap music, he’s also an actor, producer and even a label owner. That’s how he came into contact with Iggy Azalea earlier in her career. It still remains that their working relationship wasn’t the rosiest towards the end.
We haven’t seen much from Azalea since she’s recently had her baby Onyx with fellow rapper Playboi Carti. Iggy’s been more interested in giving her fans glimpses of her snatched physique, as she returned to posting to Instagram in the wake of her pregnancy to share the usual diet of thirst traps and sponsored fashion posts.
Azalea’s begun to share some bits of her child’s life with her fans, at least, ultimately giving into the allure of social media and instant connection. She’s uploaded clips of the baby cooing, and he’s also been spotted with her leaving a music video shoot in the same Fendi stroller, which is alleged to cost $2,500. She was spotted toting the infant around her shoot with singer Tinashe for their collaboration “DLNW,” showing that she’s not only back to work but managing a new child at the same time.
She also joined in with the Internet in celebrating the Biden win by twerking and dancing to a TikTok, which immediately went viral. Despite their new bundle of joy however, it seems as if Iggy and Carti have broken up. The reason seems to be trust, according to a source from a few weeks ago.
“Trust was the biggest issue, she just lost trust in him and ultimately doesn’t feel it can be regained. Loyalty is everything to her. She has been through enough to know the red flags and pay attention to them when she sees them. She took her time making this decision and feels like it is the right one.”

Though she’s a rapper herself, one might wonder if Iggy’s ready to be done with all of them, given how T.I. is still remarking on their brief time as collaborators on his Grand Hustle label. If trust is something she takes seriously, it seems as if T.I. broke that and the two never recovered.
In a resurfaced clip, T.I. spoke up about the end of their working relationship, which happened around 2015. Appearing on The Breakfast Club to promote his then-upcoming podcast ExpediTIously with T.I., Tip weighed in on comments he made to The Root in which he called working with Azalea a “blunder,” and that he was looking for another female rapper who could undo the legacy he was left with after they parted ways.
“I feel like when she found out white people liked her and she didn’t really need black people to like her anymore, she switched up,” T.I. said before continuing, “started acting different, made moves that I wasn’t proud of.” Those moves caused him to speak up, sharing “that kind of put my reputation in the line of fire.”
He also said that it was her energy that caused people to turn on her, calling her “arrogant” for “going against his grain.” At the time, Azalea responded but the tweets have since been deleted, but she let T.I. know exactly what she thought of him and his comments.
“Imagine thinking I was his biggest blunder lmaoooooooooooooo. Tip. Sweetie. We have a whole list for you,” she wrote. “He’s a huge misogynist and has never been able to have a conversation with any woman in which he doesn’t speak like a fortune cookie,” Iggy also accused.
