Tamar Braxton Calls Out Iyanla Vanzant After Walking Off Her Show, Iyanla: Fix My Life

Ever since the Braxton sisters entered the world of reality television it has seemingly done nothing to help or heal their bond.  So much so, the sisters collectively decided to step away from production from their show.  The Braxtons did get an opportunity to potentially “fix their lives” with famous life coach Iyanla Vanzant.  However, it didn’t quite turn out too well, especially for Tamar.

During the session between Vanzant and the sisters, things began to escalate and Tamar walked off of set in the middle of filming.  Later, the youngest Braxton sister went on Twitter and labeled the Fix My Life star “the DEVIL”.

Later on, Tamar went on The Wendy Williams Show to share why she was not happy with her experience with Vanzant.  It was there that she shared some very personal information from her life that she’s shared with a very select few.

“This is not a typical Tamar meltdown walkout situation,” Tamar explained to Wendy. “I’ve been battling myself on whether or not I want to say really what happened or not because everybody wants you to be political … a lot of things happened in my childhood that I was too afraid to talk about or too ashamed to talk about. But the truth of the matter is that I have been [violated] by both sides of my family.”

She added, “It’s nothing I’ve ever talked about and I never thought that I would sit around a table with Iyanla, who’s here to talk about me and my sisters and their problems, and to bring that up and shame me, basically, in front of everybody. So that’s why I got up and walked out.”

Tamar’s dispute with Vanzant would take an ugly turn when it was reported by The Jasmine Brand that she would be pursuing legal action against the Love and War singer.  “Referring to Iyanla as a ‘fake’ and a ‘fraud’ could have serious implications on the casting process for Iyanla Fix My Life and her reputation in general. It’s her duty to protect her reputation, brand and OWN’s brand. At this point, this is defamation and there should be consequences,” sources said to the website.

Shortly after the Wendy interview aired, Tamar took to Instagram to further defend herself.  While not mentioning Vanzant’s name in her lengthy Instagram caption, she writes, “Since someone there decided that they would ask me about something so private, so embarrassing, so secretive in front of EVERYONE that was there, I felt like my life was flashing before my eyes and IMMEDIATELY started to cry … because once again my right to choose was taken from me all over again.

Tamar added, “I never EVER again want anyone to feel so little and so small or even ashamed about something they had no control over.  I wanted to create a space where you can tell your OWN story without anyone commenting or making you feel ashamed EVER again!! Go to and tell your story and empower yourself starting today! I wanted you to know that no matter how many scars you have… you are the PRETTIEST  I love you all so much.”
