Travis Scott Dragged After Saying He’s Raising Daughter With Kylie Jenner To Be A “Strong Black Woman’ Fans Say She’ll Never Know What It’s Like

Travis Scott’s sitting on top of the world right now, his music talents having taken him from his hometown of Houston to the world and beyond. With his music leveling up consistently, Scott has now become more than an artist and producer. He’s becoming a businessman and he wants to now raise his daughter to be as strong of a Black woman as he is a Black man, despite what his fans may say or think about who her mother his.

Ever since their child was born, the young Stormi has grabbed the hearts of the Internet and the fans of her respective parents. She’s even become a bit of a model and muse for her mother Kylie Jenner. Kylie has even tried to trademark her daughter’s name, a classic business move that the billionaire had the foresight to secure, being that she’s the child of a celebrity couple. Fox reported that the trademark is being challenged by New Orleans-based Business Moves Consulting. They trademarked “Stormi Couture” nearly one month after Jenner gave birth in 2018 and the company argued Jenner has “no bona fide intent to use the mark in commerce for identified goods or services,” according to Page Six at the time.

Her mother has even created a palette for her makeup line Kylie Cosmetics called “Stormi,” so it is clear that this family is trying to instill the same good business acumen that they’ve come to corner for themselves, including Stormi’s father Travis. Scott knows a thing or two about business, for sure. While he’s already made a ton of money as a producer and artist himself, the rapper has now expanded into other areas – many that are new and/or haven’t been done for a very long time.

Scott was one of the first musicians to take his talents to the digital/video game world in a way that hasn’t been done before. The smash, runaway hit Fortnite, during the pandemic, tapped Scott for a virtual, interactive concert event – that was held entirely in the game. According to the game, over 12.3 million people watched and participated in the event, a record for the company.

In his latest savvy move, Scott joined with McDonald’s to collaborate on a meal, and it proved to be gangbusters. Following in the steps of Michael Jordan, Scott was only the second person to have their own meal be featured on the menu since Jordan in 1992 with his “McJordan” meal. The Wall Street Journal reported that McD’s had an increase of 4.6 in sales in July, August and September when compared to last year – thanks in part to Scott.

Scott’s taking this same acumen and teaching it to his daughter, he recently told .WAV Radio host Chase B, because now is one of the most important times to protect Black women and daughters. “I feel like it’s way more important now to protect our young Black daughters, women,” said Scott. “Making sure they have the knowledge of just how to carry yourself, how to move in this world, how to be strong, how to not even be scared to take that risk on any idea.”

“Now, more than ever, it’s like they have the vision,” he continued. “Whether it’s for anything a man can do, anything a woman can do. They got the pure vision. You know what I’m saying? So it’s just all about that.”

While Scott seems to have the best of intentions, fans noticed the irony of him raising his daughter to be a “strong Black woman” when her mother isn’t that. Comments included takes such as “Y’all not going to like what I’m about to say but truly Stormi will never know what it’s like to be black in America bc of her mother,” and another said “🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 You don’t even like strong black women.”

Others were more sympathetic, even if they understood why others weren’t. “she won’t really know the real struggles but i still appreciate him teaching that side to her because alot of biracial kids parents don’t. mad respect,” one fan wrote in support.
