Tyler Perry Reveals 11-Year Relationship With Girlfriend Is Over, Now Single and Going Through Mid-Life Crisis At 51, In Latest Instagram Post

Multi-hyphenate Tyler Perry’s brand of social media tends to be inspirational or cautionary but the actor has given into the perils of social media and posted his own version of a “thirst trap.” The 51-year-old took to Instagram to share his current feelings on life with his followers – and also potentially invite them into his DM’s and a relationship.

Tyler has a son from a relationship Gelila Bekele and even talked about being a father in his post. Earlier in the pandemic, the screenwriter was asking folks to take the pandemic seriously, as he’d lost a close friend and someone who’d been involved with a lot of his productions over the years to the disease.

“I heard a black person say, “Black people don’t get it.” That is a lie! You can get it, and you will get it if we don’t do what we’re being told to do,” Tyler said on his post. “A 26-year-old black woman died the other day, a 44-year-old black man died the other day, not to mention the hundreds of people that are dying every few minutes. Your age does not matter!! Your health does not matter. You could be totally healthy, and you could die!”

Perry joined a now-long list of celebrities who have used their clout and personal experiences with the pandemic to encourage others to follow recommendations. Perry put that key information in CAPS in his post. “STAY HOME!! Socially distance yourself and stay alive! If you won’t do it for yourself, do it for someone you love, and for those who love you.”

Perry has yet to respond to someone he’s claimed to previously “love,” however and that’s fellow actress and Oscar award winner Mo’Nique.

Using the recent reunion of the cast from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air on HBO Max, Mo’Nique hoped that Perry would take Will’s example to fix their relationship and make amends for hurting Janet Hubert-Whitten’s career, the first actress to play the “Aunt Viv” character, after she’d left the show. Mo’nique and Perry have been feuding, which Mo’Nique feels has hurt her career extensively.

“Hats off to Will Smith for apologizing for what he did to Janet Huberts (everybody’s Aunt Viv) career/life when he was young. Perhaps Tyler Perry, who has admitted in private that he was wrong will follow suit & be man enough to apologize in public like he promised. We’ll work on Oprah & Lions Gate a little later,” the actress wrote on her Instagram post.

Mo’Nique even included the leaked phone call she had with Perry that she believes serves as an admittance of guilt and calls out the fact that Perry recently won an E! People’s Choice Award for being the “People’s Champion,” and admonishing him to do the same thing for her – be a champion.

Instead, Perry’s posting about his current stage of life, which is apparently a mid-life crisis. He bemoans the fact that he’s single and not in a relationship, apparently no longer linked to the model who gave birth to his son.

“This is what a midlife crisis looks like,” said Perry. “I’m 51, single and wondering what the next chapter in my life will look like.”

It looks like money and muscles, as Perry made sure to include a full body shot. If you’re itching for a relationship with Tyler Perry, now’s your chance!
