Vanessa Bryant Blindsided After Discovering Late Daughter, Gigi Byrant’s ‘Mambacita’ Shoes Are Being Sold Without Authorization

Vanessa Bryant has had a rough last couple of years. As we know she tragically lost her husband Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna “GiGi” Bryant in a helicopter crash that claimed the lives of 9 people. In the time since she’s had to navigate a world of different obstacles from prying press, overzealous fans, issues within her family and of course having to cope with the unimaginable losses she’s taken. Fans continue to flood comments everytime a story comes out on Vanessa saying “she can’t get a break”, and it looks like that’s still very true.

Back in March, Vanessa took to her social media to expose the sheriffs who had taken pictures of her husband and daughters deceased bodies at the crash site and were sharing them with other. Images of Kobe Bryant’s crash site and the bodies were reportedly circulated by first responders once they recognized the basketball legend. Vanessa shared several pages of the lawsuit she filed against the sheriffs last year. Initially it was unsure if she was able to share the names. However a judge eventually ruled in her favor. The pages detail how Joey Cruz, one of the deputies, showed photos of the accident to a bartender.

Cruz was allegedly boastful of the pictures from the crash site. The bartender, who worked at the Baja California Bar and Grill in Norwalk, was visibly disturbed afterwards. Another guest noticed, and when the bartender disclosed what he has seen, the guest filed a complaint with the sheriffs office immediately. The customer described the bartender as “very, very disturbed” and said they called from their car to report it because the whole thing “did not sit well with [him] at all.”

Despite publicly shaming these sheriffs, it seems people still think its okay to share things from her deceased family without her permission. It was. revealed today that Vanessa had created a sneaker in her daughters memory as a collaboration with Nike. The sneaker was a beautiful black and white version of her father’s line with the company. The “Mambacita” never hit the market, but someone managed to get their hands on it and was auctioning it off. Vanessa clearly wants to know how they got it because she never received a pair.

She captioned the images “In the 2nd photo, it appears someone already has Gigi’s MAMBACITA shoe in their possession. If someone can share how they have these shoes in their possession, that would be great because my daughters and I don’t have any of Gigi’s MAMBACITA shoes.”
