The Real Housewives of Atlanta has been one of the most highly-influential shows in unscripted television. The program has made several previously unknown women into household names and lucrative careers in other avenues.
Recurring co-star, Cynthia Bailey, a mainstay since Season 3, recently brought her 21-year-old daughter, Noelle Robinson on an episode in which she revealed her sexuality as fluid.
During the episode, Noelle said, “I definitely ended up meeting a couple of girls that I thought were cool, like in a romantic aspect.”
To which, Cynthia Bailey responded, “Let me just stop you right there. I just want you to be happy Noelle. If you meet an amazing young lady, that’s a blessing. If you meet an amazing young man, that’s a blessing, as long as they’re good people and they love and support you.”

Citing the nature of reality-based television, some would deride the moment as a vacuous publicity stunt. Bailey publicly addressed those accusations on an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show.
Wendy Williams, not one to pull any punches, shot directly at Bailey and her daughter’s declaration stating, “Not for nothing. You need a more interesting storyline that the happy married lady.”
Bailey retorted, “Listen, honestly, Noel’s not a housewife. She’s not a peach holder. Noelle does not actually have to share her life with you guys. Wendy, the reason why I really wanted Noelle to tell her story on the show is because as a reality star family at this point, if we don’t talk about it on the show and people find out about it, they almost feel like we’re hiding it. And I didn’t want Noelle to feel ashamed or embarrassed or had to hide her truth.” Additionally, she stated, “Noelle is fluid, that’s her life, and I wanted her to tell her own story. [It] Wasn’t for my storyline.”
