Wendy Williams spoke out against her brother Tommy Williams on the January 19th episode of her Talk Show. Tommy has publicly called out Wendy in recent weeks about her behavior following their mother Shirley William’s passing in 2020, recently accusing the Daytime star of not attending their mom’s wake in a viral video. Wendy however, says not only was she there, but that ex-husband Kevin Hunter Sr had to break up a fight between Tommy and a much younger unnamed family member.
According to Tommy, Wendy was “out to lunch” with her Ex-Husband and son Kevin Hunter Jr instead of attending the funeral. He also made claims that she was dishonest and told her father that she had to return to New york to “take care of business”.
“Tommy, I talked to daddy… Tommy you know I was at mommy’s service and you know that you fist fought a loving member of our family who’s half your age… You started a fight over an open casket with mother right there and thank God we were at a civilized funeral home, where they helped shield my mother’s casket from being knocked over,” she said. She opened her rant with “You should know better at 53!”
The whole ordeal had Wendy visibly upset, as she went on to sing her ex-husbands praises for helping de-escalate the spat. “[Hunter Sr] will always be my ex-husband and in the name of what’s right. He walked up to the front and separated my brother and this young family member, who was very confused because he’s still a young man,”
She went on to thank Hunter Sr and even complimented him, saying “by the way he smelled very good,” before proclaiming, “No, we’re not getting back together.”
She also spoke briefly on her mother, saying “my mother was wearing a beautiful cheetah print dress that my father got for dirt cheap at Neiman Marcus.” And that they had discussed years ago how she wanted to look during her funeral, down to “the right lipstick in a particular pink she wanted”.
She confirmed that she did go to lunch with her son and Hunter Sr, but it was following the wake.
“We found it in our hearts not to forgive, but to move on in the name of the service and that’s why we went out to eat after – the three of us… We were listening to music in the car and we go to a random place to eat that had good food that we all liked,” Wendy said, and that afterwards he dropped them off at her sister’s house.
Tommy took to his instagram to respond shortly after. “I love you, I do, I’m concerned, yes. Have I tried reaching out numerous times, you hang up, you don’t call back — I’m not calling for me, I’m calling for daddy.”
