It’s been 5 months since Tekashi 6ix9ine release from federal detention. Daniel Hernandez, as the New York rapper is legally known, was released early on concerns over his asthma and the increased hazards of the novel Coronavirus.
In the time span from early April until now, Tekashi seemingly hasn’t had a dull moment, engaging in a special brand of low scandal to high trolling every where from Brooklyn to Los Angeles.
Now, he’s ruffling feathers with controversial remarks on the achievements of musical collaborator and comrade, Nicki Minaj. His recent single, “TROLLZ,” debuted at the top spot on the Hot 100 and fans have been swift to attribute the song’s success to the guest appearance of Minaj. Hernandez, not to miss an opportunity to respond or drive social media into a frenzy, came back with, “Nicki is my sister and I love that girl to death but when has Nicki ever had a #1 up to this date with her record?…That’s my record.”
Well, gee shucks. Gotta love when a guy throws his “sister” under the bus to make himself look good; especially when Nicki Minaj, who’s been in the game longer and still likely more widely known, was featured on his two biggest releases.

#25 STOOPID w/ Bobby Shmurda
“TUTU” is the latest single from Tekashi’s new album, “Tattle Tales,” which dropped Friday, September 4th. The title being a clear nod to his widely maligned reputation as a snitch. As previously reported, Hernandez was looking at a 37-year sentence on federal racketeering charges in his affiliation with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. 6ix9ine cooperated with prosecutors in the conviction of associates Anthony Ellison and Aljermiah Mack and had his sentenced reduced to two years as a reward.
Apparently snitches get riches.
The rapper has baited his former affiliates in numerous Instagram posts, made thinly veiled comparisons of his legal proceedings to Megan thee Stallion’s incident with Tory Lanez and trolled Chicago rapper Lil’ Reese in the infamous ‘poop’ video posted on Instagram.
The lists of beefs and feuds are innumerable with Tekashi 6ix9ine. And it would seem that his strategy is to ride it out as far as it will take him.
